Pro Senectute Vaud’s mission is to contribute to the mental, physical and material well-being of the elderly living in the canton of Vaud. As part of its work, the association implements programmes designed to combat vulnerability in senior citizens, in particular by offering cultural and sporting activities that encourage their social participation. Free or affordable and easily accessible, these activities are designed for frail and elderly people.

The Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good supports the following five activities:

- Les Petites Fugues: accompanied half-day or full-day excursions, enabling participants – who are picked up and dropped off at home – to discover a landscape, a gastronomic speciality or a cultural event.

- Les Ciné-seniors: cinema screenings offering senior citizens the opportunity to see feature films on the big screen and chat with other audience members over a snack afterwards.

- DomiGym: fitness classes to keep seniors active with personalised exercises. The classes are given at home by qualified instructors.

- Equilibr’Age: group classes organised in a dedicated space, designed to work on balance and prevent falls through exercises that improve mobility, safety and independence in everyday life.

- Seniors en forme: free fitness classes provided during the summer in several public parks in the city of Lausanne.

All of these activities help older people to remain independent for as long as possible and contribute to preventing or delaying situations of vulnerability, particularly in terms of physical and mental health. They help develop or strengthen certain skills, while encouraging social interactions, which are essential in combatting isolation.
