Faced with ever-increasing demand and the stagnation of donations and goods contributed during its annual collections, the Association neuchâteloise des Cartons du Coeur is seeking to strengthen its action.
The Association neuchâteloise des Cartons du Cœur, founded in 1993, works to support people suffering hardship in the canton of Neuchâtel. Working with the social services, it provides free, anonymous, one-off food aid to beneficiaries who are often unseen but particularly vulnerable: single-parent families, the working poor, the elderly on low incomes, the unemployed no longer entitled to unemployment benefits, and people waiting for institutional support.
The parcels distributed contain non-perishable foodstuffs, hygiene products, fresh produce and gift vouchers (not valid for alcoholic or tobacco products), enabling beneficiaries to supplement their purchases to meet their specific needs, particularly in cases of people with food allergies or intolerances. In order to respect the cold chain, meat is not distributed directly, as the delivery vehicles are not refrigerated.
Faced with ever-increasing demand and the stagnation of donations and goods contributed during its annual collections, the Association is seeking to strengthen its action. Support from the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good involves the purchase of additional foodstuffs and the distribution of vouchers. This funding helps to guarantee the continuity and nutritional value of the assistance provided, while ensuring the association’s financial stability. In this way, it is helping to improve the quality of life, resilience and prospects of vulnerable people across the canton of Neuchâtel.
