By supporting the distribution of festive parcels during the three major traditional Taiwanese celebrations, the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good will help provide food support and culturally significant gifts to 4,800 beneficiaries each year for three years, representing a total of 14,400 parcels distributed per year.

Huashan Social Welfare Foundation

Established in 1999, the Huashan Social Welfare Foundation is one of Taiwan’s largest organisations dedicated to supporting vulnerable elderly people. It works to enable seniors who are either disabled, suffering from dementia or living alone to age with dignity within their community. This support is based on a vast network of community presence points, which provide local support to around 30,000 elderly people.

In recent years, the daily lives of disadvantaged older people have deteriorated considerably due, in particular, to the rising cost of living, the impact of natural disasters and a fall in charity donations. Many seniors find themselves forced to reduce their food intake, and thus risk falling into malnutrition and seeing their health decline.

In response to this worrying situation, the Huashan Social Welfare Foundation wants to step up the distribution of meals, the organisation of community meet-ups and the delivery of festive parcels during Taiwan’s three major traditional celebrations: the Lunar New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. These parcels, which meet the food requirements of disadvantaged senior citizens, also enable them to participate fully in these major cultural celebrations.

By supporting this initiative, the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good will help provide food aid and culturally significant gifts to 4,800 beneficiaries for each of these events every year for three years, representing a total of 14,400 festive parcels per year.
