The context of this initiative is the growing economic difficulties that many communities of Mexico City and its greater metropolitan area are experiencing, exacerbated by inflation, fluctuating prices and food shortages.
The aim of this project is to tackle food insecurity in the vulnerable communities of Mexico City and its greater metropolitan area. It focuses on purchasing and distributing essential foodstuffs such as rice, beans, oil, grains and powdered milk. These products are added to the food parcels prepared from donations, ensuring that the families receiving them benefit from a balanced and nutritious diet.
The context of this initiative is the growing economic difficulties that many local communities are experiencing, exacerbated by inflation, fluctuating prices and food shortages in certain regions.
Initially designed to support 240,000 people, with the Foundation’s help this project can be extended to 320,000 beneficiaries. The expected results include improved food security for the families receiving support, a reduction in malnutrition, and greater resilience to food crises within communities. In addition, this initiative should also have an indirect positive impact on all communities because better diets generally result in fewer health problems caused by malnutrition.
