CA-NOV (Centrale Alimentaire du Nord vaudois) was set up in 2023 in response to the growing difficulties encountered by social welfare structures, particularly due to the sharp rise in the cost of living and the constant increase in the number of people suffering hardship in the region.

CA-NOV is a registered charity whose mission is to collect basic supplies, centralise them and then redistribute them to its member organisations, which are committed to helping people in need. In 2024, almost 18 tonnes of products were redistributed, while the estimated needs of local organisations exceed 100 tonnes per year. Current supply levels are therefore unable to fully meet demand, in terms of both quantity and quality.

To date, CA-NOV has relied mainly on collections from the general public in supermarkets during the "Samedi du partage Vaud" initiative, but this limits the range of products available. For example, it cannot supply milk or eggs – foods that are in high demand from beneficiaries – and it does not have enough oil to meet needs.

The support provided by the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good will enable CA-NOV to purchase food products over a three-year period. This will give it the opportunity to develop and diversify its sources of supply. In the short term, a proportion of the funds will also be dedicated to organisational needs, with the aim of professionalising its structure and strengthening its logistics, which are currently provided solely by its volunteers.
