The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. Its mission is to recover surplus food from throughout the supply chain and redistribute it to community associations across the city. In 2020, The Felix Project created the London Food Alliance in partnership with FareShare UK and City Harvest, using hauliers to transport large quantities of food to 18 emergency food distribution centres across 14 of the capital’s boroughs. Since the pandemic, the organisation has grown rapidly to meet the explosion in demand for food, exacerbated by the cost of living crisis.

The Kitchen Meals project was launched in 2021 in response to the difficulties encountered by some beneficiaries of community associations who, due to economic or physical constraints, could not cook the food products provided. Drawing on the expertise of chefs and qualified volunteers, the programme prepares complete, balanced meals that are then distributed through community centres, neighbourhood associations and other partners.

In its kitchens, The Felix Project prepares 5,000 meals a day, six days a week. In 2023, 1,114,234 meals were cooked and distributed to more than 800 community organisations, serving some 69,000 beneficiaries. Thanks to the support of the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good, the charity will be able to make an additional 152,542 meals per year, providing much-needed help to many vulnerable people in London.
