The "Wayfarer" Programme provides fresh and balanced hot meals to around 5,000 individuals every month. It serves those most in need, including the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and marginalised groups who face growing food and social insecurity and have limited access to protection systems.

Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA) is a national non-profit organisation, member of the Global FoodBanking Network (GFN), founded in Jordan in 2003 and based in Amman. Its mission is to combat hunger and malnutrition by providing sustainable food aid to the most vulnerable people across the Kingdom. Over the past twenty years, TUA has become a regional benchmark in combating food poverty, thanks to various programmes such as sustainable food aid and the "Wayfarer" Programme, as well as seasonal initiatives such as Iftar meals during Ramadan and winter and back-to-school support.

The "Wayfarer" Programme, based at TUA’s headquarters in Al Mahatta (Amman), provides fresh and balanced hot meals to around 5,000 people in need every month. It targets people in situations of extreme hardship – the elderly, children, disabled and marginalised people – who are facing growing food insecurity and limited access to social protection. Each meal covers around 60% of an adult’s daily calorie requirements, helping to improve their health and quality of life.

As well as food aid, the Programme promotes a culture of compassion and dignity. Meals are served in a welcoming setting, offering beneficiaries a moment of respite and social interaction. It also encourages civic commitment by involving volunteers, students and companies in its distribution, to strengthen solidarity and collective responsibility in the fight against food insecurity.
