Refettorio Paris

Le Refettorio Paris is a cultural and artistic project taking the form of a charitable, 100% anti-waste gastronomic restaurant, created in March 2018 by contemporary artist JR and Italian chef Massimo Bottura. It was imagined by Food for Soul, a non-profit organisation co-founded by the chef, which aims to raise public awareness of combatting food waste through social inclusion.

Located in the heart of Paris, in the crypt of the Madeleine church, Le Refettorio offers vulnerable groups gastronomic meals in a setting that combines art and design. Exclusively open to people experiencing hardship and social exclusion, it serves refined dishes prepared from unsold and surplus food from supermarkets, partner producers and donations. Chefs, many of them Michelin-starred, regularly come to cook alongside the resident team of staff and volunteers.

With the support of the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Common Good, Le Refettorio is seeking to strengthen its offer for women and children, who are priority beneficiaries. The organisation also intends to improve the quality of its services to its guests, while continuing to develop its cultural initiatives.

By supporting this project, the Foundation is helping to fight food insecurity and social exclusion through gastronomy, while actively combating food waste.
